Hi, I have 2 sets of brass candlesticks that I am unsure of the age & country in which they were made.

Set #1 - looks like Imperial Russian 1800s Sabbath candlesticks, but there is no name engraved on them as most of which I've seen seem to have. These are 9" tall and 4" wide at the base.

Set #2 - unsure all around.

Can you flip them up and take a picture of each underside? That's where a lot of the clues are. Others know more about candlesticks and brass in general, but they'll be asking.

The little turret finials are sweet, aren't they.:) Nicely balanced proportions too.

Wonder whether that downward sloping section isn't meant to go the other way up, to catch drips rather than to help them on the way to the tablecloth?

Found these, not the same but similar:

Ran the description through Google translate:
Bronze, cast, turned and polished; height 20 cm, foot diameter 10.5 cm. Russia, Frolov Brothers company, 1890s

It almost looks like there's a mark on the base too. It looks like it comes apart, so the drip thing could be flipped back. The other may not have engraving so that it could be sold to Gentiles too.

Ah ha! The taller ones do have an engraving of some sort - I can't make it out to save my life. Maybe "Kur----"? Image enclosed:

Interestingly, the shorter sticks have what seem to be different undersides - the one on the left is more of a smooth curve while the one on the right seems to have a couple curves - even though they look identical standing up.

I appreciate all of your help so much!

could be, no clue - I'm unsure if it says that or if it's an artist name engraving.

The Koreans made a pile of brass for export back in the 1970s and 1980s.

thank you all very much! should I assume the first, smaller set are most likely late 1800s Russian?
