If this mark wasn't used by IS then Must be earlier than 1898?
    hoping someone might know.

    Hi Mikey,
Rogers & Bros always made flatware but in 1874 they started to make hollowwear. The pattern number might be a clue to the date but you can always use 1874 to 1898. It is a really nice napkin holder.

Well, this mark was only used on hollowware, which Rogers & Bros started making for themselves around 1874. The use of the "triple plate" terminology would have been known about that time (first shows up in a Meriden Britannia catalogue in 1871) and could have continued after the creation of International in 1898. The marks of most if not all of the companies that joined were still used after the consolidation, some of them for decades.

It's a very pretty holder! I'd say 1890-1900-ish, just on the design (although that's not always the best indicator.)

Interesting how many different makers of the same thing. The current listings are mostly pretty high. Did you checked completed?

Good morning! Rainwater's silverplate book shows one very close. by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. (the engraving is a little different). It's from their 1886 catalog.
