Help with any info on Mexican folk art embroidery?

    Hi all! This Mexican (?) narrative embroidery piece was amongst an auction lot I won recently. It measures 29.5"L x 25"W. I was hoping you could help me with any information on it in relation to age or possible artist? Are these pieces common, made for tourists? Also there are two large stains, any tips for removing without damaging the embroidery? Thanks everyone :)

    The panels are entitled "Christmas" and "Life on the Ranch." Given the piñata is green, white and red, I would think Mexican too.

    This type of Mexican embroidery typically comes from the Lake Patzcuaro area in the state of Michoacán.
