Featured Help with age of this frame.

    The three sections are individual frames. The white areas are carved into the frame and painted, not inlaid. I'm not sure if the burl wood looking area is veneer or painted. There is a faint "lip" to it. It's 14 x 12 1/4. Thank you.

    Would think 1870-80. Frames are dictates to fashion, much as furniture is.

    Thank you Brad. :) When I first saw the front, I thought it was vintage. It's when I turned it over and the saw the construction and the aged wood that I realized it was much older, just didn't know how much.

    I took a class in frame restoration a couple of years ago and I might give this a try.

    Beautiful frame. I used to have one of that style, that came with a botanical print inside it. I took the print out and now don't remember what I did with the frame.
