    Hi there.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this mirror I thrifted? Time period? True antique? There are no marks on the back to indicate a maker, or year, etc.

Hi and Welcome, @Thriftyfinds! There are many members here who can help you better than I can, but just in looking, it "looks" like it "could" be sterling, but without marks.....hard to tell....where I've put a red arrow....is that writing or part of a design....and please give dimensions.....ANY and ALL information you can give is MOST helpful!!! It's the best way members can help YOU!! Looks like it has a good wood support at least on the back which "could" be hiding some information! But wait for others to come along and help....

Thanks so much. I shall measure tomorrow. Google lens brings up Louis Phillipe mirrors. And some appear similar in nature. It is just the design where you placed the red arrow. No writing.

Silver? Where did that idea come from?

It is 33in tall and 21in across.

I have no idea what the material is made out of. Lol I just thought it was a pretty mirror and I bought it for $6.99 but I'm curious to know if it's actually an antique.

I actually have no idea. The back is wood. The frame feels like... thick plastic? I have no idea.

It's difficult to see what you have from the one photograph. So not wood. Might be plastic. What color is it?

Does look like an antique, or nearly so. The photo looks overexposed so very hard to tell what we are seeing. What looks like metal may actually be just a standard gesso over wood frame. Can we get a different pic?

I saw that but do not see the same thing I guess, I was wondering what it was about the picture that made Aqui think that.

This is a walnut mirror ca. 1860. North Italian Renaissance stylistic influence. In its present condition it’s not worth much. If the bleached wood is refinished in dark walnut then the value would increase.
