Hello Board Buddies - I spied this 8" vase on a shelf in an otherwise unremarkable antique mall and thought I recognized it as Winged Scroll. I'm having a little trouble verifying it though. The pattern appears spot on but there is no record that I can find of a vase being produced in that pattern. The only other example I could find was on replacements which doesn't tell me if it was original production or a later piece by someone who bought the Heisey molds. The color looks a little lighter than what I usually see in Winged Scroll. It would have been easy enough to produce this as a whimsey though. It is unmarked. So I'm confused. Was this part of the original production? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks very much.
    Don

Jefferson glass also made a version of the Winged Scroll in custard.

At least I think it was Jefferson

Jefferson's version is slight different. EAPG.org shows several examples of these swung vases, tho' the form is not shown on the catalog pages they have.

It's good. one other turned up about 1995, went into the Museum. I never heard of another one. This is from Heisey, not Jefferson.
    Hope this helps.

Thank you, Tom and everyone. It will have a good home. My mom has a Heisey collection but is reluctant to take in new pieces due to a lack of space. She said she'd love to make room for this vase but we wanted to be sure it was legit first.

I knew Tom would come through with the definitive answer.:happy::happy:

Make sure you put a note inside so that others will know its true identity. :D:D

Possibly this was swung out of a tumbler or sugar bowl bottom.

My bad, I should have included a base measurement. It's 2 1/8" so I'm assuming tumbler.

Point of interest, Heisey Glass, 1897 - 1957, page 55 lists a 6 and a 10 inch vase, no illustration, however. I'm not surprised at an 8" vase.

    Edit correct typo

I will ordering a copy of this book with my next Amazon order. I like the look of my 8" vase. The other pictures I've seen of this vase show the pattern distorted. Whoever did mine know what they were doing.
