According to the 925-1000 silver encyclopedia, 835 is the silver standard of...

Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Portugal.

So it'll be one of those five countries. If you can I.D. that mark on the right, it'll probably tell you which one.

I think there are other countries that used 835 as well. Like Czechoslovakia, Norway...
Can't figure what is the mark you asked about.

The mark on the right. Next to "SILVER"

I meant I can't tell what the mark depicts.

    Switzerland also used 835.

It would be near enough to call it early 20th C European. It appears to have been made for export.

    You mean 835 not 885?
By the way, is the glass hand blown and cut?

Neither Denmark nor Norway used .835 silver, would be .830. Can't make out the mark on the right either, and the 'SILVER' mark is a bit odd, but can't recall seeing the '835S' on anything other than German silver from around 1920-60...
