I found these yesterday at a local thrift store.
Doing a image search on the 1st one (w/Wallstreet newspaper), it came back as J. Paul and John Le Quintana - but the signature on mine looks like neither name - and mine is a artist's proof.
Is this a "in the style of" ?

The 2nd one looks like a Chinese woodblock print, and has Chinese/Japanese characters and a stamp in the bottom right corner, but also has a signature that looks like english writing in the left corner (and a date that I think is 1933 but the last 2 numbers are written no way I've seen before!)
Does anyone know anything about this one?

    Thank you!

The A.P. is signed Hy Mallinger. This is the only work of his I could find on the internet. You can compare the signature.

Here's what JustAnswer says about him: "Hy Mallinger was a relatively well known artist, most popular in the 1960s era, but he is not classified as "listed" at present. Most works like yours typically will retail from $25-55 at present, pending actual condition and demand. He was known for portraits and advertising art more than anything else. Sorry I could not advise it had more market value."

Given "advertising art", he likely worked as an ad agency creative.

Oh, can't access but see his name included in 1994 edition of Art in America. (Caution: It could have been in an ad.)

Just a quick question J-does your pal let you look at all the artwork he brings in ?
Just wondering if he might save certain things to offer to specific buyers-catering to clientele so to speak.

No they unload trucks from donation pick up at different homes
Never know what exactly coming off the trucks (although when they call for pick up they will tell them in general - bed, dresser, art etc

Interesting. I see the two different signatures on the Hy Mellinger work. Wonder what that's about. And here's a third. T. Cook according to the seller.

All his work on internet can be found at MutualArt. Seems to be a variety of signatures. Some with chop marks.

Are they prints or watercolors? I’ve had Asian watercolors that I’d swear were prints if I didn’t know better on casual viewing. They somehow have a way at times of doing them that are so clean and neat they don’t look like original paintings.
