Help! What I’d this basket/bowl called?

    Does a nobody know what this basket/bowl is called and what is was used for? It measures approx 10”x8”x 6.5”.

    That's a really nice piece but it looks rather new. Gathering basket maybe or just decorative? Wait for others to respond.
