Here's another of my oddball finds. I swear that I don't purposely seek out illegible and unsigned work but I sure do seem to find those pieces. Just picked this up and loved it immediately. It's already hung in the house but as usual would love any info anyone can supply. I searched Sargeant, Sageant, Sarjeant, Sayeant and am at the point that I need a new set of eyes! No idea on the first name. Swear that's a crossed t as the second letter but the t is totally different on the last name. It's well framed too which was a big plus. I don't expect the artist to be listed but was curious if there is any information.

Is there a specific name for the type of felt pen (marker) that was used on these? I love the strokes and washes of color. Do you all agree that it is correct to call it a synthesia related work? Is there an "ism" for this type of work? As always, thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!

I'd call it Cubist in style..............other than that and the fact that I like it, I can't be of any assistance...............sorry

Thanks for looking. I really like it too. I can read the entire title without an issue but cannot put that name together.

  4. Musical abstract art, how clever and very decorative. All I can tell you with some confidence is that it's not European (except UK and Ireland) as the 7 does not have a line through it. Not much help I know.

My gut feeling is that it's American. BTW I am too and I have always crossed my 7s as my grandparents did but I agree, most Americans don't.

I tried searching for Prismatic Symphony #4 and just got hits on the composer. Atonal Passage got me nothing. It looks like Slina C. Sargeant, but that just brought up John Singer Sargent. I'm guessing it's an amateur with nothing on the internet.

Maybe that's a line through the second letter and it's Stena. That's a Scandinavian name, I think.
