Greetings All and hope you may have a chance to take a peak. I bought a wonderful (at least I think it is LOL) early 70s mixed media abstracted landscape in a crazy fauve palette. I think it's oil stick, paint, pencil etc. Signed in pencil. Image is approx. 13" x 9.75" No clue on the sig although I've tried to decipher and thought some new eyes may see something I missed. TIA!

I like this but it is not abstract. I would call it modernist. Appears to be pastel. Signature is a hard one. Faffidins? Your guess is as good as mine on that first letter. Doesn't look like anything recognizable.

Thanks to you both and funny about the "sauer". I agree sorta modernist but certainly not typical MCM IMO but who cares, I do love it. Could be pastel but it doesn't have that typical chalkiness to me. Sure wish that someone might recognize the work as I don't think anyone can actually read that sig. What is it with doctors and artists? Please keep posting any new ideas and have a great evening.

Any thought to it being a first and last name?

Yes. It looks to me as if the last name is Lind. But what that first name is...??!!

    I like it as well.
What if its the name of the painting?
    Aussie Desires?

My reply seemed not to post so apologies if it does more or less duplicate. Can't say I can read anything in that writing. Thought I saw Lind but that final letter may not be a D and there's some slash after. I know that there are many talented amateurs but something about this picture just reads to me as having been done by a professional listed artist with history. I'm just so curious but it's already hung on a wall and I'll probably never figure out who painted it.

Hope you guys have another minute or two for me. I'm still beyond intrigued with this drawing. Just took it apart-nothing on the back but it's backed on cardboard so I need to get it reframed anyway and took new pictures without the glass. I found more writing on the left side. Any thoughts? TIA!
