    About 2 inches across by 1 inch deep

    Looked at hundreds but did not find a simlar composition

    wow.gif That's a beautiful piece!! Unfortunately, my wife although she's Japanese, she knows nada about kanji. Hopefully, someone will stop by to help you. Here's a link and my best guess. It's a WWII ship or military tea cup, you probably already know that though. ;)
