Help to read signature or mayby ID artist - landscape painting from 1875

Discussion in 'Art' started by Nicolai Alexander Damm, Nov 23, 2016.

  1. Need help with my oil painting. Would be interesting to know a bit more about the
artist, and where the motive are from.

Hope someone can make a name out of this signature. Or maybe even know
the artist. I have no knowledge of where it was painted and the country of the
    artist. Its dated 1875

    Thanks
    Nicolai (Denmark)

Culpeper? That's closer to the usual spelling of the last name.

Colepeper is an English baronet's name. Culpepper, VA is named after the family. Probably a Sunday painter as the subject matter is fairly common. Nice frame so someone liked it.
