    Hello,

I have been researching and find one person with this plate stating it's a vintage 10" repro China export "Armorial" porcelain cabinet plate coat of arms.

Another says Samson Heraldic Coat of Arms but can't see full listing.

    These 2 are 10" and 10 1/8"
I'm curious though is there a way to find out who's coat of arms?
Image search didn't help too much for that information or typing in the information, ie. black bird....
I like to learn as well and they are very nice.

    Thank you

The warning on the back came into common use in the 60's or so, but is still being used.

it is most likely a tourist plate not pertaining to any one family....

I'm not sure those types of plates, which are sold at Home Goods and similar retail outlets, faithfully reproduce familial coat of arms. That on yours appears to be a fantasy; the individual elements don't look correct, exemplified by the heart shaped shield.

Pretty much what I was thinking. They made a ton of jewelry with mock heraldic symbols on it, and the plates go with that design trend.

There is a company in China that made these plates in the 1960's called Tang Hall. They make very good copies of 18th century Armorial Plates. I have a Tang hall plate in my collection and they are very good quality revivials and handpainted. They usually come with their backmark.
