Help to ID this gun powder horn, is it antique?

I got this from a small antique store. Owner didn't agree to reduce price when I was bargaining with her. But I feel it looks hand carved and seems pretty old (although the screw on the bottom is new which installed for sitting on base). Personally, the carving pattern looks like American Indian to me.
Anyone please can help me to ID it and roughly tell me how old it could be. The wood in the bottom cracked and a little bit rusted, the bottom of horn is almost black color(possibly tarnished?).

PS: Is there any silver experts can help to ID two sterling ware I got today? need a rough estimate on the value of them, hope I didn't spend too much on them.

There is nothing in the photos to date it,Is it "scrimshaw" or painted design?I don't see anything pointing to NA,it could be SE hillbilly, historical reenactor, boy scout, etc.and possibly no older the 40 years.

    well....I see no Indian design.
The scrimshaw is nice, but light.
The wolf suggests hunter & not military, as does the style.
The screw in the base would have held a ring or finial for the carrying strap.
& it doesn't look to have ever been used for power..or shot.

    I can't say that it's new......
but that hole drilled in the front tip......is not what you want to see in an authentic....old or meant for use powder horn...

Yeah, I don't like that small screw either, but I love the scrimshaw :angelic:.
What a pitty to hear it neither antique nor authentic.... :dead:. Anyway, at least I know that I should pass these hobby items. :shame:

@komokwa @Hollyblue Thank you so much for your information and help
