Help to date & value sterling damascene bracelet (Thai, I think)

    Finally, here is a link bracelet measuring 6 5/8". (Pardon the red reflection; must remember to remove red flannel shirt!)

    Unfortunately, the mark is incomplete. But it looks to me like it's from Thailand.

    They seem to be selling cheap lately - maybe $30 or so

    Thank you, Terry. Siam seems like a good KW. I appreciate that. And would this mean it is niello as opposed to damascene?

    Damascene is a gold application. This is cut through niello.

    This is Niello, indeed, which is an applied mix on silver, which is then cut through. Not all is black: I own it in blue and white as well. Damascene - the true stuff, that is - is decoration with silver and gold wire, inlaid into steel. It's most common in Spain and Japan, but can come from many countries.

    I've seen red here. This is Siamese/Thai for sure. I even have a bobby pin with the same design. The bottom has fallen out of the market for these I'm afraid.
