Hello everyone and Happy Christmas Eve! I could use a little help with these candle blocks. They measure 1 7/8" high and 2 3/4" across the top. They are very heavy and I believe the oval notches are cut. There is a small symbol etched into the bottom of each holder. It looks like a Pi symbol with a line underneath. I didn't think much of it until I realized they were both marked the same way. I have always called these candle blocks but searching under that term doesn't bring up anything helpful. Does anyone recognize them? Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
    Don

My first thought was Orrefors, but seems not. They mark clearly.

My eyes often betray me, so not sure. Is this the mark in question?

Yeah, enlarged it looks like one of those photos people take & swear is a ghost. Looks less like a pi here. Just complicated matters, could be any of several things.

In the little bit of Googling I did, ran into something described as a block, but was meant for votive candles, not tapers.

"Crystal glass cube candle holder" brings up square ones on eBay. There must be round ones, but I have to leave... :(

You nailed it SBSVC! Thanks to everyone! That picture of is a bit outdated. He tried to assassinate the lamb in front of him shortly after this photo was taken. Poly-fill everywhere! I re-stuffed the lamb and sewed it up but the poor lamb is now an amputee.

I've had a fair bit of Orrefors with only labels and no marks. Tends to be the less expensive and more recent stuff.

OH LORDY!!!! Can we count the number of amputee stuffed animals that we have faithfully re-stuffed and sewn up.......only to have another limb eviscerated from the same amputee!!!!! :bag::bored::borg::happy::hilarious::hilarious::jimlad::jimlad::joyful::playful::playful::):):smug::smuggrin::wacky::wacky::wacky::wideyed::woot::woot::writer::writer::writer::cool::cool::p:D:D:D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes:
