    Hello..
I see many of these online shows the edition and/or which printing.
Mine shows nothing and can't seem to find info how to tell other than ones i have seen. Under the Manufactured sentence others show more info on this.

On Wiki it says this is the first edition cover

One of the ways to identify many book club editions is to look at the back cover (of the book itself, not the dust jacket). If there is a small indented circle or star in the lower right corner, near the spine, it is a book club edition. Also, the dust jackets for book club editions usually do not have an original price printed anywhere. But more photographs of the whole book, including the title page, would be helpful. Is the photo above of the actual copyright page in your book? If not, we would need that as well.

It appears "Book Club Edition" is printed on front turn of dust jacket.

This website lists the characteristics of a true first of Slaughterhouse-Five. "First Printing" should be stated on the copyright page. The lettering on the book cover is silver, rather than black. And the original price of $5.95 was printed on the front flap of the dust jacket.

It is not odd, it is the most common way they are marked. Don't know why, but it is the way it is done.

There are a few examples of BCE's having true collectible value. This typically happens when the normal trade edition is so hard to find, that collectors will pay more for any copy of the book. Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind and J.D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye are two examples.

...and there are few worse ways to spend some time than to actually read it, great author, great yarn, the story of Billy Pilgrim and Montana Wildhack, among others.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That article on bookpoi looks good. I'm also aware of many articles on the BookThink site that address the values of book club editions. Unfortunately many of them were written quite a while ago and so I'm not sure of currency. Here is one of them. https://www.bookthink.com/0005/05bce.htm

The owner of the site hasn't done much updating in a while. The site is still up, though, so he may also be willing to answer questions if you write to him through the site. The owner is a long-time online seller of books. The BookThink site only sells things that he wrote, I believe. The site is meant to be educational for booksellers. Otherwise, he sells through other venues.

Actually, looking again at the bookpoi site, the latest copyright date at the bottom of the website home page is 2008. On BookThink home page the latest copyright date is 2018. So it's possible that some of the BookThink articles are newer.
