Help on a vintage metal jar

    Please help on identifying this vintage metal jar and its approximate value .

    It is not a jar, maybe you hang them over a fire.What are the measurements?

    Well it actually looks like copper underneath the patina/plating. And yes, not a jar. Wish you would have gave dimensions. Is that plate in the pot spring loaded where it can be pushed down??

    Looks like a copper Middle Eastern cooking pot. It seems to be heavier guage than most but maybe it is smaller than I think and just looks heavier as a result.

    What's bottom of it look like?

    As far as value, bigger is better since it has more use as a decorative item than does a small piece.

    The complete lack of wear at the joints of the soft metal indicates it always was a decorative piece.

    Looks like it's made of steel, maybe it needs a magnet test.
