help on a signature

Hi All
Can anyone help on the identity of the artist behind this signature on a painting? I have also attached the painting just in case.

Pier persona vitae ?

 

The last name looks like (maybe) Vitale or Vitali to me.

the "pier" suggestion of jonny did the trick...also baker is right on the "vitali"

Pier Germani Vitali, a self-taught Lombard painter from Italy was intrinsically fashion spurning. A modest artist, Germani never sought out prizes or official awards. He was an self described ‘independent spirit’. Germani declined personal exhibitions and did not take part in any competitions.
