Great pictures, but what we really need is a picture of the bottom and a straight on picture from the side, showing the complete piece.

    And size.

Yes, fully understand, the piece is 36cm across from tip of dragon head to tip of other dragon head. Total height of main body is 17.5cm, lid is 18cm in height. Width of main body is 13cm. Additional pictures are marking under base and marking panel under lid. Sorry!!!

If you can piece together pic 1 & 2 then that is a side view of the total item.

I also think it is resin but the quality of the piece suggests maybe a more up market tourist piece....maybe? All I could gleam from the seller was that the original owner was a seasoned traveller.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Sorry, your pictures 1 and 2 do not piece together well at all.....they were shot from 2 different distances and angles.....try just one close-up of the entire item!!!

It is in the form of a censer but, being resin, will not be usable as such. I get the feeling from your pics that this is entirely cast, with little to no hand work. While impressive, the desirability and value can't be all that great on the secondary market. Might have been more expensive than the average resin tourist bauble but I don't see this having much appeal to serious collectors.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Steve, your photos are great! I know nothing about this, so can't weigh in on that, but just wanted to say that I like the photos.

    Just getting back.
Your added pictures help a lot. Thank you.

I'm with brad in that it represents a censer.
There is an awful lot of good detail, so agree that it was originally a more expensive piece.
I find it interesting that the hoops are a darker ivory color that the piece itself.

Are there 8 men? Possibly the eight gods? 8 hoops?
    Foo Dogs for guardians?
Forget at the moment what the dragon represents.

Nice piece even if it is resin.
