    Hello,
I’m new to this site- found it while searching for info on this set of chairs. Any idea the period/style? I’ve spent a couple hours searching online to no avail. I haven’t found any images of furniture with this star and cross/Islamic star design. Could this be Spanish colonial or revival? Or Moroccan? I will post more info after seeing the pieces in person tomorrow. Please let me know if you have any ideas about this set.

    Thanks in advance!!

"Star and cross"? It would be helpful to see a close-up photograph.

Welcome, Siena! When you see these in person please take pictures of the structural and decorative details for us. Where are you - what country?

I think your instincts are correct. I see some Moorish influence so Spain or North Africa are good bets.

From what I can see... They're Moorish in influence. The style wouldn't be considered Colonial. It is rústico or rustic. (An older example is below.) Yours look new or new-ish but based on the designs of solid, traditional country furniture.

From what I can see... The backs do feature the Moorish abstract star motif and the stacking at bottom is based on the Moorish abstract palm motif. Here are examples of both from tiles found at the Alhambra.

Can't see what design is featured on the top rail. Looks like a scallop shell which is, of course, a Christian symbol and one closely associated with Spain.

I have seen similar chairs in Moroccan shops overhere (Netherlands). We have a large Moroccan community.
I like them. (Both Moroccans and these chairs.;))

Cali makes sense for Moroccan/Moorish design chairs.

    Welcome, btw.
