    Hello!

I bought this as a used set in the USA from a moving family.

It came with 2 identical bedside tables with 2 drawers each (only 1 pic due to current usage)

All 3 pieces have the “Dixie” mark on the inner top drawer of each. The top drawer handle on the armoire was broken off, but I have that piece and am going to repair it.

    H: 59 3/4”
    W: 40”
    D: 19”

Wondering if it’s genuine Dixie and if so, is this anything exciting? Or is it just a pretty set that I got a good deal on regardless?

Thank you!! (Sorry if I formatted weirdly, I’ll learn with practice!)

Yes. The drawers appear to be "real" wood, so that's a plus. Don't know what you paid for it, but I'll say you got a good deal regardless anyway.:)

Could be "pecan" in the 80s.

We've seen Dixie sets here before, but I think they were simpler and painted, probably earlier than these.

I've read that the official term for this style of finish is flyspecking. Just one more example of the 70's being the worst decade in the history of design.

70s middle-of-the-road Mediterranean style used furniture.

Like the exuberance of the floral motif. And glad you got a good value. Hope the pieces serve you well. Though not sure I'd call that an armoire, a term usually associated with hanging. I'd call it a gentleman's chest but others may disagree.

My parents bought furniture with a similar speckled finish, they call it "pecky pecan" :)

I don't think anyone ever bothered to fake Dixie.
As for whether or not you got a good deal, you don't mention what you paid.
Unfortunately, this style is not popular and would be a tough sell in my neck of the Midwest USA woods. In excellent condition, I don't think I'd be able to get more than $100-$200 for the set... if it ever even found a buyer. It's unfortunate that there is no low dresser with mirror to complete the set.
If you like it, that's what's important. :)
Agree with another poster in this thread that your larger piece is not an armoire but rather a gentleman's chest. My parents had an MCM style set they bought in the 1960s with a gentleman's chest, low dresser w/mirror, and two nightstands.
