    Hello there friends!

I have recently moved and will be selling a beloved chair that no longer fits in my space. All I know is that it is a reclining mission chair and it has a Batch/ID Number (see photo). Can anyone tell me how I can go about locating the maker and/or approximate value? I have no idea what a fair price would be.

    Thank you for your help!

Not sure where you are, so it's hard to estimate a value for the chair. Since it's a recent adaptation of an early 20th century chair, I'd expect to see maybe $50-$100 for it at auction in my part of the U.S. Midwest.

That could even be a bit generous.

Hi @CaliRuss and WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!! There are an awful lot of Mission style recliners out there, so you may never come up with the maker. Does not appear to be a Stickley, if that's what you're hoping for! Because of SO MANY variables, this site tends to stick away from offering appraisals; However, you can always check out sites like Ebay.com, but once you enter what you're looking for scroll down a bit and check off SOLD listings....you'll get a better feel for values if you see one close to what you have!!

Indeed, I was just shopping for a sofa, wandered into a Stickley furniture online store, YIKES at the prices, very nice stuff though and very expensive new, easy to see why period Stickley goes for big numbers.
"Stickley furniture was never inexpensive; for most people, buying new Stickley furniture is prohibitive. ..."

I bought a $1250 Lazyboy Mission style recliner at our local thrift store for $35 , the foot board was broke in two, took off the upholstery and padding and replaced the broken PARTICLE BOARD !!! (YECH!) with a piece of Marine grade plywood , and put the upholstery and padding back and it's "MY!" chair that I have had for 5 years now .....I used upholstery cleaner on it but it was so clean I could not even get gray on white rags trying to clean it...thank you to the person who had so much money they could afford to buy another one ! ...... even a $1250 chair can be had for less than $50 if you look in the right places !

Yeah well, no offense to Lazyboy but Stickley is a whole other thing & not likely to be in a thrift unless it's been run over by a truck. :p
I had to give up my email addy to get prices and now, I can't get rid of them! :(
