This is a handpainted porcelain tray with 2 birds. Anyone know how old this is or who might have made this? The only mark on this is France. It is about 11.5" long x 7 3/4" wide. Also the Hanger on the back is unique, never have seen one like that! 20240725_075413.jpg 20240725_075429.jpg 20240725_075421.jpg 20240725_075452.jpg

    Charming tray @citrusey .
That hanger can damage the porcelain though, if you can remove it very carefully, it is best to do so. If you are scared to, leave it, but don't handle it too much.

FrANCE is not a "mark", its just been writtten on the painting ( with a small "r" ???)

A mark is painted printed or embossed on the underside .

charming but a bit amateur , this ornamentation isn't very regular

The birds look like Birds-of-Paradise from New Guinea or nearby islands. Maybe the Lesser Bird-of-Paradise?

Given the size and shape, the tray looks like it might be a dressing table tray that would have had trinket pots, ring holders etc on it at the beginning of its life.
