Help identify artist

Looking fo help to try to identify this artist.

 

Sweet little burro. But suspect it would be neigh near impossible to identify artist from initials and date. Anything on the back?

I cannot assist with the artist. If this was painted for its owner, they must have been very proud of the animal. Also, if this breed is the same as the following link, it's understandable. It may also help you search for artists who painted them.

I don’t see any writing on the back or the frame

 

Why don't you open it up and see if anything is written on the back of the painting?

No idea, but he's a nice looking donkey.

 

I also haven't a clue, but I think he's beautiful and it's a nice painting!!!! A wonderful 'woodcut' artist on Block Island did a neat wood print of our 'Jerusalem' donkey's head back in the 60's, and when she retired, then gave my Mom the original 'woodcut' of the print!!! I now have them both!!!!! I love donkeys!!!
