I bought this bowl at a flea market many years ago for $2.
I have been doing research, but I'm still not sure of age. Chinese swatow? Ming? Qing?
The paper sticker repeats what is under the glaze below the sticker. It looks like "XU 471" Could it be a Dutch inventory/export mark?Any info would be appreciated! IMG_20200202_093229.jpg IMG_20200202_093253.jpg

Yes I think it is late Qing, domestic (kitchen) ware, some say decorated by kids ..speculation of course, but one thing is for sure - they don't make it any more!

I agree, 'Kitchen Qing'. Most of these were made for export to the rest of Asia, notably Malaysia and Indonesia. (Singapore was still part of Malaysia at the time.)
I think a Fujian origin is more likely. Swatow export ware is older and has a gritty base.

Nice bowl.....the crabs along the border are not common and the central motif....i think has something to do with long life or happiness....anyway should you wish to read about antique Chinese ware here's a good read....http://library.umac.mo/ebooks/b35946994.pdf...of interest...note the small dots inside the crabs claws ...these will tell it is older than the later productions....as they say its all in the details.
