Help ID Mid Century Modern Lamp

I'm not very familiar with lamps but I'm having trouble with this one even with its markings. I think it says Scharf Lamps but I could be wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cool lamp! What's the brown and white part of the base made out of, ceramic?

 

What a coincidence. I just ran across this one at work recently. It's new, but similar. I don't know how to tell if yours is older. I suppose you know from the electrics. If you wanted a "mate", this one would be nice, I think.

Lordy - what a reminder of the apartment my mother kept in Chicago - she had it re-done in the late 60's, early 70's and I am certain that that lamp's relative lived in the lounge.................

 

Bottom is metal and the main part is ceramic. The person I bought it from says it was purchased in the early to mid 60s.

 

Dead on for the style. Those are stinkin' HOT right now.

 

Ahhhh... that's why they're making repros...

 

Probably retailed in Ikea and Target....
