HELP ID GRAFFITI ARTIST BANKSY ??

I purchased this painting at a flea market in the Bay area about 5 years ago. I actually thought it was by Basquiat but as I started my research I discovered the world of graffiti art and that they honor each other by copying each other with their own twist. I can see Basquiat BUT I also see banksy SIGNATURE and cross . I'm at a lm AT a lost. Your opinion.
Who made it?

 

My impression is that it is definitely not Banksy and very doubtful its Basquait either.Maybe a clearer picture of signature might help.

 

A clearer photo would be good. I would have thought more abstract than graffiti.

 

I say graffiti art because that is what is called but its thick IMPASTO like paint.
There are no clear signatures that is as clear as it gets. I'll post picture with location of what I have posted

I like it.I'd post in on Google Lens and see what images come up.I don't see a signature in yr highlighted areas.
As all have said not Basquiat or Banksy.I see someone sitting-face in upper center,arms on either side.
Guessing late 40's-60's.

Really nice abstract IMO and painted way before Banksy was on this earth and prob before Basquiat too for that matter. No clue who painted it but it would be interesting to find out. It’s good work.

No surprise that you found it in the Bay. It looks Bay or NY. I’d send images to UC Davis and UC Berkeley and ask if they have any ideas.

 

Gut feeling here is 60s…

I get a De Kooning vibe from it,I'm not saying it's one-lots of young artists were inspired by him,esp post-war figurative artists.
Wish i was still picking those Bay Area fleas-the best ever IMHO was the one in Sausalito,right down the hill from Marin City where Tupac grew up in.

I JUST WATCHED A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT A PAINTING STOLEN BY A COUPLE AND WHEN THE SIGNATURE WAS SHOWN, , IT HIT ME, ABOUT THE WHITE CLOUD THAT HAD SOME WRITTING. I LOOKED AT IT AND REALIZED IT WAS UPSIDE DOWN.
THE TOP HAS DE AND THE BOTTOM
STARTS WITH A K AND ENDS WITH A G. IT REALLY COULD B BE DE KOONING.
I READ HIS BIO AND ACCORDING TO THE BIO DURING THE 1930 - 1940 HE PAINTED MALES USUALY SITTING DOWN. AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW , THIS ONE IS SITTING DOWN.
I ALSO DONT KNOW IF HE PAINTED IN BOARD? ALL I COULD FIND ID PAPER DRAWING AND CANVAS PAINTING.
WHO OR WHERE WOULD I CONTACT
FOR OPINION OF IF ITS REAL OR FAKE?
