    I found him, Chinese dude, Law Wai Hin. Wonder if the oil painting is by him as well. Seems like nowadays the artist works mostly in watercolor but he did used other medium in the past.
    Actually, I bought just the painting but left the print. Seems that I cannot find what his originals are selling for.

    They don't look like the work of the same artist. The print is rather competent but the oil reeks of paint farm.

    I will email the artist to ask him.
    Could be an early work. The artist now live in Canada. It won't be unusual when he was in China to paint junk boats.

    How does one choose between a signed print of questionable value? And a tacky painting of dubious value?

    This is what is known in the art field as "a vexing question."
