The metal rod looks like a skewer.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Yes... and I wonder whether it originally went with it, or was included later.

The rod part was definitely made to go with it it has a perfect sleeve on the sheath that it slides into same exact length same exact width so who ever made it used the rod for something maybe while hunting and they had some meat they would use it to make a Shish kebab. Thanks everyone for the replies. Matt

It looks African to me, but with no decoration on the blade, handle or sheath it is difficult to place it more specifically. What is the handle made of?

Hello 2manybooks the handle is wrapped in some kind of leather not sure what’s under the leather I would guess wood it’s light I would look at the handle in more detail to check but it’s at my fathers house. Thanks again Matt
