    Hi,

Here's the next cane I need help with. This has a pewter top that looks arts and crafts, so could be it's from 1900-1940ish?

Again, it's a hard wood, that has a nice patina (correct spelling?) So I believe it is old.

Has a metal tip as well, that I think is consistent with age?

    Thanks guys.

The tip is called the ferrule. I'm fairly sure they were replaceable. If it wore down enough, then you'd work off the old one and hammer on a new one. Depending on how much the stick was used, it may not be the original.

Thanks..This one is quite worn down, can see wood under it so I don't think it has been replaced. At least not recently!

I don't see anything particularly arts and crafts about this. The way the metal is tarnished, I bet the top is silver or at least plated. You might look for small marks. Looks like hickory or oak with paint.

I'll have another look for silver marks but seems too dark too be silver.

Has been painted over as is flaking off and looks like was an attempt at some design.
