HELP...AGAIN, WITH ABSTRACT/SURREAL POLO LITHO

    I am pretty sure I asked for help with the signature on this piece, but when I found out who it was I had already sold it - or so I thought! Moving a pile of framed art to get to the refrigerator (in a house I'm using as storage while waiting for a insurance claim to be paid to repair it), lo and behold I found this beauty! I'm still surprised (and happy!) because I would have bet that I'd sold it!
    I'm pretty sure after posting it here I found out it's by a well known listed artist but I can't remember who it is and I definitely can't tell by their signature!
    So I apologize, but can someone please remind me who the artist of this piece is?

    Thanks anyway, I need help - and sorry I didn't remember surreal explanation; I would have kept it out of title!

    The framer died in 1981 which helps a bit with dating. Think you may have to open up back.
