Hello my names is kirk I'm 29 year old and i have lived on the outskirts of London all my life.
I have some antiques that I would like to sell and I thought this would be a great way to find out more information about the antiques I have.

This is the first piece I would like to show.
My grandfather gave it to me.
He told me its been in the family a very long time and belonged to his sister who was a baroness who worked at Harrods as a dress maker.

 

It's a lovely Chatelaine.

You can google for images and info.

My grandad tells me he has more of his sister dress making equipment that she used at Harrods also.

Welcome, Kirkl! (Popular name - were had another Kirk, without an initial, join up yesterday!)

You probably already know that your lovely chatelaine is electroplated nickel silver (the EPNS in the larger marking,) but we might be able to at least figure out a rough idea of when it dates to if you can tell us what the smaller punch (ending in "& Co") says in full. That could be the retailer, of course, which might be harder to determine, but it's worth a shot.

Hello mate thanks for the reply, I'm pretty sure its DG now.
I was worried about polishing it as there is not much to polish before its completely gone but I can't see how its anything else other then DG now after really studying it.

Welcome! It's a lovely little chatelain with excellent provenance. You can check the "solds" on ebay to see what it could be worth.
