Hello everyone, my name is Julia obviously and I'm from North Carolina! I'm not sure what I'm suppose to say here, so I'll just do some non sequitur rambling.

I'm 33, located in a rural area, and I have four extremely spoiled cats. I have tattoos but I wouldn't say I'm heavily tattooed, just moderately (my definition of "heavily" may be skewed by having many friends that are tattoo artists).
I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and I'm frequently in pain, so much of my time is spent couch-bound...but there's plenty I can do to keep busy on "couch" days! Currently I'm suffering a "first world problem:" my laptop died and I can't afford repair or a cheap, basic replacement so my phone has been filling in as a substitute. It's not ideal but it gets the job done!

Besides antiques, I have a Sephora/Ulta addiction and I'm a sucker for gimmicky limited edition game releases and their poorly made trinkets :joyful: I have a particular weakness for Borderlands 2; I LOVE Claptrap figurines!

I've been interested in antiques and vintage items since I was a kid, from my dad taking me to flea markets and antique stores all the time. I also occasionally sell items from home via eBay!

Things I hoard like an antiquer Smaug:
    • Compacts & vanity accoutrements
    • Chinese articulated cloisonné fish
    • Slips & nightgowns, especially silk slips, but I'm trying to cut down on these because I have only so much closet space :shifty:
    • Kimonos
    • Ridiculous cat figurines
    • NES/SNES/N64/Gamecube/Gameboy (original, color, advance, advance sp, micro) games & systems
    • Basically anything and everything Soviet/USSR era
    • Absolutely ridiculous taxidermied animals
    • Medical, astronomy, botany book plates

Sometime soon I'll take photos of a few favorites items and make a post to share my preciousesss

    Me looking deceptively normal:

Greetings, Julia! Although we do spend a lot of time on antique and vintage items, we're also a "community," sharing our highs and lows, joys and pain. So you'll find a lot to make you giggle in the "Funnies" thread and a place to share just about anything on "Resurrection of Rants and Raves." They're both under General Discussion and I urge you to explore. :)

    Welcome, Julia. :)

I and at least one other member have a mast cell disorder, which I believe sometimes coexists with E-D. My doctor thinks I may have a mild case of E-D, and from my reading I know moderate and severe forms can be very difficult to live with.
