Heavy Thick Cruet

    I've seen lots of old cruets but never one like this. I am curious to find out when an where it might have been made. You can see from the picture of the bottom that it is really thick glass. From my research I believe it was initially pressed in a mold and then the top has been gathered and shaped and the handle applied, etc. There are lots of vertical straw marks down all 4 sides and there is a rough mold release edge right around the stopper. It is wheel engraved on all 4 sides- one side has what I believe is a fly. It is 6 3/4" to the top of the stopper; the bottom is 2 1/8" square.
