Recent yard sale acquisition. The sea turtle label on the bottom and the look of it suggest Hawaii but not sure; any ideas on maker or era? Thanks much in advance!
This is very similar. The auctioneers thought studio pottery. https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/two-studio-pottery-vases-with-sgraffito-decoratio-7744c0f97b Debora
Thanks for that. Im going to guess, since it had a paper label at one time, these are not studio pottery, especially given you've found a very similar couple of pieces. Hoping these designs have meaning to someone - the one on the right in your picture looks potentially asian with those characters at the bottom...? At any rate thank you!
The same motif appears on another vase, identified as Japanese mid-century modern (and signed in Japanese) - https://www.invaluable.com/auction-...-modern-signed-art-pottery-va-98-c-97548a7a94
..oooh thank you 2manybooks, thats a good clue. starting to wonder if these are part of a sake set or something along those lines. I did purchase this with a number of other genuine mid century items so it would seem to make sense. Thanks to all.
