Hansome gent - who am I?

    Any idea who this gent might be?
    I bought this online a few years back- it's an original drawing by Jean Baptiste Madou looks like 6 Dec, 1854 - (not sure about the 5) IMG_0138.JPG . I really bought it because the signature looked similar to my last name and I liked the image. Only once in hand and able to suss out the signature was i able to discover the artist. But still have never figured out who it could be - seems well dressed... the small mustache and goatee are unusual. Appreciate any opinions. Thanks!

    A young Eugene Delacroix.

    His older face featured on French Banknotes.

    Edit;
    Maybe not, wrong shaped nose.

    Hi,
    I do not think so. The earlobe is pined to his head. The later ones shown has detached lobes.

    Greg,
    The original drawing is the artists interpretation and not necessarily accurate of the subject.
    Don't forget some artists are not right in the head, there is evidence of some chopping their own ears off.:hilarious::hilarious:
