I saw this on my travels today. No markings other than 66 or 99 on the base. The decor has an amateur feel about it. It looks like it has some age but not willing to risk the £75 price tag.

    Thanks. Popular subject matter apparently.

Not amateur decoration to my eye.

Close up it looked kind of rough in texture. I've not examined many hand painted antique porcelain pieces close up and maybe I've walked away from an absolute gem. I had to think long and hard about it.

Could the decoration have been a transfer?

I sincerely doubt it. You could see the texture in it as if it has been applied by brush.

Hmm. Rough in texture could mean a number of things. I wonder if it was painted after it was made and then re-fired. Generally, you don't see the painted area up to the rim like that, but painted in the centre with soft edges -- sorted faded away. But, the low tazza looks right.

Okay thanks. I don't think I'll be dashing back again tomorrow to buy it then. It is nice but not £75 nice in my eyes. Google image search doesn't seem to throw up anything similar.
