    Hand carved wood statue 18" tall. Trying to determine where this is from and possibly what type of wood.

    My guess is the Phillipines.
    Recent as in 1980s forward.

    Wait for others, I'm just guessing.

    What cc49 said. Wood may well be Pterocarpus indicus, see if it smells like roses to confirm. In PI the common name used for that species is "Narra."
