    Hello again,
I wonder if anyone can advise on what hallmark is stamped on the earrings. Looks like a V or a head.
I looked in my books, I can't find it.
The small transparent stones are diamonds, tested.
Also, can anyone pass an opinion on the chaberchon stones and the style and age of the earrings.
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,

I don't recognise the mark either. It looks a little like the Sheffield Rose but then I don't think that would fit with the 9K - I'd expect the usual hallmark with it.

Regarding the stones they look most like a quartz form, moonstone, or chalcedony, the orange stone could be the same material but dyed, looks a bit light for carnelian. Could also be glass of course, but I think this is less likely due to the gold/diamond combo.

9K means it's not British or even European. Diamond chips are cheap, so the stones might be moonglow type glass if they're not moonstone.

It is a manufacturer's mark, rather than a hallmark. If you are in the US it is likely to be a US manufacturer.
    The stones are cabochons.;)

Hallmarks were once punched in guild halls, hence the name hallmark. They are now punched by government assay offices.
Not every country has a hallmarking system, so not every country has hallmarks.

I agree - US maker mark. Any chance at all of getting a "macro" image that focuses from very close to the subject (and should be cropped before posting to fir well on the page?

Mark on the right looks like GK? And the one on the left may be a capital S in a square. That's just from zooming in on the images, by are not as good as a properly focuses macro from a camera.

    Hello again,
I have tried taking close up photos of the hallmark but I have been unsuccessful.
I am in the UK,and bought them in the UK, and here 9 carat gold tends to be most popular to use in jewllery. Not so much in the rest of Europe. I know this because when I go on holidays, I look in shops as well, so, for example in Turkey and Russia 14 carat gold tends to be very popular, in Italy 18 karat gold, in Asia 20 carat and above up to 22 karat.
I think they are UK made.
I wonder if the hallmark is for the diamonds or the stones. Is there a hallmark for diamonds except DIA?
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Simona

Simona, one reason it isn't British is the spelling - your piece has K rather than c or ct.

Simona, if you can look with a loupe at the mark, maybe you can draw what it looks like?

Thank you so much for this information, I never knew that UK hallmark reads ct or c.

9K is unlikely to be American, would think probably of Chinese manufacture...
