Likely to be Sri Lankan or Indian. Could you take a picture of the dagger itself?

The shape looks vaguely like a kukri.

Only very vaguely.... The shape is a pretty generic Asian shape.
    This is a Kukhri:

    Hello,
I allowed myself to follow this thread with my own inquiry. It seems to be a good place to ask.

I would like to know more about this dagger, any idea? IMG_0806.JPG IMG_0809.JPG IMG_0810.JPG IMG_0811.JPG IMG_0812.JPG

    Hello and welcome Erik Pat.
Beautiful dagger. Sino-Tibetan, which means Himalayas and adjoining regions in China.
Probably silver, inlaid with coral cabochons and carved jade. And I think I see a bit of malachite as well. The coral could be 'faux' coral, imitation.
Gorgeous little dragon, the tip of the sheath is a guardian lion, called a foo dog in the West.
Do you have more pictures? And please start your own thread next time, many might miss this beauty.

Here i have attached the rest of the images of the initial top dagger as per the request any idea of its origins. actually this is in pretty rusty conditions. image-0-02-06-f8b76ba4d4c87cb057357d3273e48d3c8551935833238a22a3c1c3018192914b-V.jpg image-0-02-06-5e183ba24e0e84e8414c824290ad52646cc295bd0ec05f74f27c1c1004d999c0-V.jpg

That handle and sheath seem so overkill for such a weak little blade....so I'll suggest that it's tourist item.....but I'm unsure as to it's origin.

thanks Komokwa. by the way what do you think? cant this be a Kris? or the malaysian dagger?

    Definitely no kris, nor Malaysian.
Probably Indian, or Nepali, and as Komo said, a tourist item.

@Any Jewelry, why is that. is it based on the same assumption that the pointed part is too small compared with the handle and the rest of the stuff? just for my information im asking.

I can't argue that the item does have some authentic age to it...but for the blade to rust out while still in the sheath, and the leather to decompose in that fashion..I'd venture that your piece was submerged ...for quite a while.

& , the leather treatment of the sheath....I'm thinking Morrocan....or African.

There seems to be coral or imitation coral inlay in the centre of the metal flower shape on the handle, and possibly remnants of imitation turquoise inlay in the petals of the flower. That combination is something you see a lot in Nepal.
    This is a keris/kris:
