It appears to have been used by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, round about 1900-1920. This is a good thing for selling as railway collectors push up the prices of otherwise routine watches.
The back probably unscrews. Sight ot the movement or a better picture of the dial might make identifying a maker possible.

With the LMS engraving it is worth mote than the regular watch would be, assuming you can find a British railway collector to buy it. There may not be many in Ceylon. How much is it?
Just a few kletters would probably be enough to spot the maker, but it's not a big deal exactly who made it. The thing is the thing, not the maker.

What a load of shite these writers toss out. You'd need a giga-pixel image to do some of the things they pretend to do. You cannot show information that is not there, just make it more pixilated.

Well, we know the maker now, Limit, a mid market Swiss firm.

What remains a puzzle is why post it.

sorry guys i just now called the owner. he admitted that by mistake the wrong image has been uploaded from phone. and he sent the correct link of the images. I think its not that value. It does not belong to British Railway. But Ceylon British colonial era railway. Here i have attached the new set of images he sent. By the thanks @Ownedbybear for the info. otherwise i would have done the wrong research.

Wow that looks rough. If it ever was a RR watch, then it's one of the later models.

The watch says "17 Jewels Antimagnetic" to me, that says post-WWII. So probably 50s or 60s manufacture. By this time, railroad pocketwatches were really on their last legs. By the end of the 60s, almost none were still being made.

Britain never used what the US called Rail Road grade watches. Just reasonable quality regular watches, since there was not felt to ba any need for super accuracy.
Something has been stuck on that dial. I am sure that HIT and probably Ak does not belong there.
Baume the maker is a mid level Swiss maker, 17 jewels is a little better than 15 jewels, the average for this type of movement, and antimagnetic means the hairspring is made of a material that resists vecoming magnetised.

AF is right in that the UK and its colonies (with the exception of Canada, I believe) did not abide by American-standard railroad watches, but railroad-grade watches were still considered to be very important. 17 jewels was considered the lowest acceptable quality of movement which could be used on railroads.

Unless I'm mistaken, which I don't think I am, the antimagnetism thing came in when diesel-electric trains started becoming a thing. The batteries and electrical circuits posed a risk to watches, with the hairsprings possibly becoming magnetised. This increased after WWII, when diesels started slowly replacing steam-trains in greater numbers.
