I think it is a reproduction of a late 17th C style flintlock, but I cannot really tell from the pictures.

Further any other significant marks to see whether it's original or fake?

not at all unusual for someone to confuse a modern blackpowder reproduction with an original. If a gun is marked "BLACK POWDER ONLY," or "MADE IN ITALY" (or any other country name), it will nearly always be a modern reproduction.

Maybe something from the far East. India or in that area.

Ok first I know absolutely nothing about guns.
Have no idea if one is supposed to clean an antique gun, but I would think that would be the first thing to do.

Wiping down the wood and metal with mineral oil shouldn't hurt the gun - would it?
    I see is silver deposit/inlay.

I also see what I think is the eagle used in Germanic and Russian marks. Shown in the last picture.

Again, I know nothing about guns, so don't do anything about cleaning until someone who knows says something.

for the moment...don't do more than wiping it with soft rag.
Oiling or taking off the patina , would ruin the gun....before you find out if it's a real gun....

& to that....while not an expert on antique guns.....I'd need to see the firing mechanism in more detail.
From here it looks a little wonky .....& the push rod is missing from underneath the barrel.

The moneyshot is the hardware.....it can tell you a lot about a firearm...

Springfield is a cannon expert, but I think he knows a bit about firearms, too.

The only thing that bothers me is that weird oblong on the side with random blobs. With all the silver inlay, that part should have a well-crafted picture of something.

I had an 18th century Danish dragoons flintlock and took it to several people who misidentified it until a friend of mine who is a collector contacted an expert in Texas. Two different gun shop guys told me it was a repro and tried to buy it for $300. The only way you'll be able to tell for sure is if a real collector looks at it in person.

Might be North African (Moroccan?). I think the technology lingered there.

I'm about 90% sure it is a fake gun made for sale to tourists in places like Turkey. Close examination of the lock should tell for sure. The frizzen should snap smartly butween its two positions which leave the flash pan either open for loading or closed prior to firing. Open it and see if the pan would hold priming powder, and whether on the side of the pan, when open, you can see a flash hole in the barrel. I kind of doubt that these details would be correct on a souvenir fake because some buyers would try and shoot them, with liability and legal implications for the maker.
