Guitarist Crayon Drawing

Obviously not a very skilful execution so I guess a student or amateur piece?

 

Heehee. Looks like Jimi Hendrix.

 

Looks like some kid's drawing of Hendrix (geez, look at the hands!) - he did wear some pretty fancy stuff and often wore bell-bottoms, but I have a problem with the platforms too. Clearly, that's who it's supposed to be though, since 'Jimi Hendrix' is written above the signature...

Yes, I agree. But the hair!

Looking at again at the first pic, I think the name of the subject and the signature of the "artist" take up most of the lower right corner - feet to knees looks like a big J.

 

The artist's last name looks a little like Holloway... maybe? Can't really tell for sure.

 

The face looks like Jimi but the clothes are pure Carlos Santana.

 

And Jimi played left-handed, holding the guitar "backwards;" the guitarist in the drawing is playing in the ordinary way.

 

Pitiful.

 

One more reason it might be Carlos Santana -- the conga drums.

Going off now to listen to some Santana music.

As a student or fan piece, it may very well be Hendrix. It sure looks like that's what it says.

 

Eh, I can read 'Jimi Hendrix' quite easily, but for me, the artist's (using the term lightly) signature isn't really worth taking any time to decipher. Not sure why such an amateurish drawing would be expected to be accurate in its details, but Hendrix did usually have a conga-player...

I just scrolled through images of Hendrix. He did wear hats like this with feathers and there are images of him holding the guitar on this side.

 

With an artist of this caliber, any resemblance to persons dead or alive is purely accidental.
