Any suggestions on age and origin, besides Mexico?
    Thanks

Do you have a reason for thinking this is not Mexican?

Not really but no real proof that it is Mexican. That's why I'm asking if there are other suggestions.
Maybe the base can give some clue.

There is a lot of imported glass from Turkey and this could be one of them. It's a newer imported bowl.

This shows lots of wear on the base. Speaks to it having some age to it. Still could be nothing important but worth a second look I think.

Frankly, that thing is a mess. I wonder if it's a student piece.

Fenton, not sure what do you mean by newer, but even if not antique, with such wear on the base, it has to be at least several decades old.
Still, could be imported, could be a student piece.
Dgb, a mess in what sense? Like not having a perfect shape? Is not that normal for some old glass? Or new glass made to look old?

It could be the pictures but the base color looks very uneven in the third picture and the top is uneven in the second. The bottom ring has uneven wear which may mean it's also lopsided. Could all that be intentional? I suppose. To me, though, it indicates poor quality control.

Uneven wear on the base could be due to uneven foot ring.
I did not know that they fake bottom wear on glass, or at least I'd expect to see it on a piece by a famous maker or historical one.

To me , it looks like the bottom half of a bottle ! Like it was made from those kits sold in the 60s-70s . Wear on the bottom doesn't necessarily mean age, what id it was used a lot ?

I had one. Glass cutters that cut bottles in half to use as glasses. It was popular with colored wine bottles.

    Hi,
He is referring to bottle cutters. They were all the rage in the 60s. I must have made 100s of drinking glasses for everybody. In the 50s I made them without the cutter, just trying a rag around the bottle soaked in lighter fluid and lighting it, wait a minute and plunge into cold water. Oh those Bohemian Days.

I did buy one in a box that was specifically for this. It also included decals you could use on the glasses once you finished.

It could have been made in a Glass Class @ Kent State.
