    I am always curious as to what sparked somebody's collection. So why old locks? :D:D

    Nice collection!

    I have a few railroad locks & keys that I've picked up over the years. Highly collectable and most of the nicer ones realize solid prices.

    Used to be a padlock collector myself. Would pick them up for $5.00 or less when I found them. Once I got a selection of fairly common ones, I became pretty selective in what I bought. When I liquidated my collection of about 75 locks, I made close to $2K. Had one lock sell for nearly $600.00 on ebay. I knew it was good but had no idea how good. Still have a couple railroad locks since can't sell them on ebay :rolleyes:

    Yes, my locksmith husband has a few old locks hanging on the walls. We may donate some to the lock museum in Connecticut if he ever retires.
