Hello all I recently came across a very old marble table, I was wondering if any antique experts here can help me identify the date and possible value of it?

The marble is about 1/2" thick, Any comments are greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

Hi and welcome. I think its a repurposed slab of marble on a 70s base, but its attractive and useful. :)

I get the same vibe.......but finding the cost of a large slab of marble should be easy enough...

Agree with the above, although I'm not sure that the marble has been repurposed. I'd say it's all vintage (mid-20th century), not antique, and since a Victorian version of this would probably go for about $100 around here, I'm thinking maybe $50-$75 on this.

just to look at it a different way......

    Average Marble Countertop Cost
After interviewing 21 marble countertop installation companies and analyzing the cost of 1194 marble slabs we found the average marble countertop cost to vary between $50-250 per square foot. So for an average 40 square foot marble countertop, the average cost of the total marble countertop is $3800.

    Hi,
I was at a stone slabber shop a few months ago. Found a wonderful marble slab,
I loved it and found out the slab was 8 ft by 2
0 ft and was 800 dollars a sq. ft. I agreed to go back to granite at 30 sq ft. The marble haunted me for a few weeks. It was emerald green and turquoise swirled in pink and taupe with lots of red highlights.

Wow, that green marble sounds incredible!

With Komokwa's input in mind, I wonder if $100 or even a bit higher might be a more realistic figure. After all, it could serve as a coffee or sofa table, and people still like/need those.
