Gourds and basketry whodunit

I've had this for a while, and still clueless about where and when it might be from. My knee jerk is that it isn't Mexican/central american but more likely African mid to late 20th century, but I really don't know since I haven't seen a comparable. It is huge, at slightly more than two feet (24") tall. The basketry body and fiber string holding on the arms and gourds together is original, the transparent fishing line is recent and apparently put on to hang it on a wall. I'm all eyes and ears on this one.

SORRY! I start posting new stuff, then think I have so much old stuff that still needs investigating, that I didn't think it was possible for me to post twice. I'll remove this thread if I can. Thanks again.

I sent a silver belt buckle to auction......
the guy in charge tells me I sent the same buckle ...years ago.....and it didn't sell..

I'm beside myself trying to remember if he's correct ......
