I hope you all are doing well and staying safe. I got the vase over the weekend at an estate sale. The marking looks like Minton date code, but Minton mark has a number in it and this one doesn’t. I am hoping someone will be able to help me. Thank you in advance and enjoy your evening.

If someone wanted to forge a Minton Mark, they could perhaps avoid persecution by not putting a number in it and so making their mark unique.

I'm not seeing Minton Quality here. Looks more to me like somebody imitating modern Capodimonte.....BWDIK.

Minton was fastiduous about marking their wares. Minton introduced date codes in 1842. If this is a genuine Minton it was made in either 1891, 1892, 1893 or 1894, as the date codes for those years was a shield with a number inside.

Occasionally a thick glaze would obliterate part of the mark, but it should be there along with the word MINTON.

If that abomination of a pot was made by Minton, the founder of the company should be rolling over in his grave about now. :inpain::rolleyes:

Thank you all for responding! I didn't think it was Minton because the shield didn't have a number it. I just didn't think it would hurt to ask anyway being that I'm not knowledgeable about these things. I was also hoping that maybe someone would recognize the mark and point me in the right direction. I guess the marking is fake and I appreciate you guys taking the time to respond. Please have a happy and safe day.
